Kid Craft Models
Modelling and sculpting make a great kid craft project. They challenge a child’s imagination creating three-dimensional structures and playing with clay and other modelling components can also encourage interest in science.
These activities use different modelling compounds and techniques to create interesting and beautiful pieces of art.
Papier-mache is used in some of the activities and can be messy and a little complicated but sculpting with play dough or modelling clay can be quite simple.
For young children the appeal is usually the sensory experience of working with dough or clay, of squishing and shaping it with no purpose than to feel the material in their hands. Let your child enjoy the materials texture and smell. Focusing on the outcome of the activity can make children feel they can’t create well enough and they lose their motivation to continue.
