Play Dough Recipe
Each of the following play dough recipe ideas produces a good-quality play dough. Some require cooking and some don’t.
Oatmeal Dough
This dough doesn’t last as long as cooked dough. This is not meant to be eaten but if your child does put it in their mouth it wont do them any harm.
Ingredients
1 part flour
1 part water
2 parts oatmeal
Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix them well and knead the dough until it’s smooth. Cover the play dough and refrigerate it for storage.
Uncooked Play Dough
Ingredients
1 cup cold water
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
paint or food colouring
3 cups flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
In a bowl mix the water, salt, oil and enough paint or food colouring to make a brightly coloured mixture. Gradually blend in the flour and cornstarch until the mixture has the consistency of bread dough. Refrigerate for half an hour. Cover for storage.
